Here’s the tip we wish every organiser knew: the activity kids talk about afterwards is rarely the biggest one. It’s the one nobody had to queue ages for.
If you’re looking at a gaming van for community events in Barry, you’re probably juggling a fun day, a fundraiser or a church hall open day, a tight budget and a forecast that says “showers”. We get it.
Think in rotations, not crowds
Our van takes a maximum of 10 children at a time. That sounds small until you plan around it. Run it in short sessions, and have a sign-up sheet or wristbands so everyone knows when their turn is. Kids who aren’t inside can have a go at the face painting, the cake stall or a kickabout, then swap.
Where it works best
The van comes to you, so it’s happy on a school field, outside a community centre or in a car park near Barry Island. Check the ground is fairly flat and there’s room for it to pull in. A quick chat with us beforehand saves a lot of faffing on the day.
Why a gaming van for community events in Barry suits the weather
Welsh weather has other ideas about your bouncy castle. Inside the van it’s dry, with wall-to-wall 4K TVs and proper soundbars, so the rain becomes somebody else’s problem.
Keeping it fair
Nothing sours a fundraiser like a few big personalities hogging the controller. Our Team Captains make sure every child gets involved, including the quiet ones. We tend to lean on games that get everyone laughing, like Gang Beasts, Goat Simulator and Rocket League, plus Minecraft and EA FC for the ones who know exactly what they want.
One last thing
Tell parents roughly what’s on, so there are no surprises. With 500+ five-star reviews on Google and Facebook, Gaming Squad has done this plenty of times. Have a look at gamingsquad.co.uk and see what suits your day.
